At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.As a T&E Duty of Care Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all company travelers, while also managing compliance with the Global Travel and Expense (T&E) Policy. This role involves creating awareness of duty of care, communicating risks, auditing expense reports, and supporting travel-related matters. You will collaborate with travel management, and T&E auditing teams to safeguard travelers and ensure compliance.What will you be doing?

  • Duty of Care Programs:
  • Develop and implement duty of care awareness programs for all company travelers.
  • Communicate potential risks and safety guidelines to travelers visiting high-risk countries.
  • Collaborate with travel management and security teams to ensure traveler safety and policy compliance.
  • Provide support and assistance to travelers.
  • Continuously improve and update duty of care procedures.
  • Travel & Expense Auditing:
  • Audit expense reports for compliance with the Global T&E Policy using tools like Concur Detect AI and Concur SAP.
  • Approve, reject, or escalate flagged high-risk expense reports within defined SLAs.
  • Conduct internal audits in SAP Concur for areas not covered by AI tools.
  • Provide input on savings opportunities and compliance risks based on audit findings.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Participate in T&E process improvement projects, focusing on policy, auditing, and help desk efficiency.
  • Identify areas for process optimization to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of T&E processes.

What You Will Need to Be Successful:Education

  • B.S. or B.A. Finance or systems-related degree.

Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in travel operations, expense auditing, or a related field.
  • Experience with travel management and expense auditing software, such as SAP Concur, and Concur Detect.

Competencies

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to spot potential risks.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
