Descripción de funciones: The Opportunity This position works out of our Alajuela, Coyol location in the Structural Heart business unit – our business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease.This position is responsible, under general direction, of leading the business operational excellence journey. The role leads the OPEX governance and supports the systems to enable sustaining and improvement of them. Also work and/or lead strategic, process improvement projects in conjunction with site goals and imperatives for increasing revenue, capacity, optimizing cycle time, space utilization, reducing defect rates and improving customer satisfaction. The role is accountable for delivering tactical results from the application of Lean, OpEx/Continuous improvement, 6s methodologies and effective change management.What You’ll Do Support the OPEX journey, guiding the system leaders/owners on the best practices to build systems through the right behaviour and tools.Collaborate with the OPEX Core/Steering Team on the definition of the Journey, regarding the short-term plan, and participating in the long journey design process.Maintain, coordinate and/or execute method & time studies, capacity analysis and line balancing. Maintain, coordinate and/or calculate business unit direct labor needs to support year-over-year demands and to establish direct labor standards in coordination with the finance and operations teams.Coordinate business unit overall layout administration including space utilization optimization analysis for the short and long term. May lead Site Master Plan and Layout Changes Control Forums intended to accomplish a strategic and tactic control of space and capacity utilization of the site and/or business unitLead business unit layout change assessment forums. Lead layout changes that enable growth, space utilization and flow improvements.Generate models and/or scenarios for Direct Labor Headcount requirements and volume rates that support the best optimal cost structure for the businessCoordinate business unit overall layout administration including space utilization optimization analysis for the short and long term. Required QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering7+ years of working experience in manufacturing/operations similar rolesFully Bilingual (English and Spanish)Computer software knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, Visio, Minitab, AutoCad).Experience with Operational Excellence and continuous improvement methodologies. Such as lean manufacturing techniques, value stream mapping, or similar.Knowledge of FDA, GMP, and ISO guidelines is required.Experience leading roroot-cause problem-solvingethodologies following DMAIC principles or similarExperience in project management involving coordination of cross-functional teams.Preferred Qualifications5 years prior experience in medical device manufacturing.Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and/or Project management certificationsExperience managing and leading teams and executing performance management
