Purpose Statement

Leading a group functionally organized under Research and Development, the Materials Data Supervisor leads a team that provides product attribute management services for the wide range of data systems at BSC.

The scope of support includes both existing and new products from multiple divisions. The work is task-based and provides support to multiple projects at the same time, and requires interaction with cross-functional team members from R&D, Packaging, Labeling, Supplier Engineering, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate review and allocation of workstream tasks among the team
  • Help resolve technical issues and questions regarding tools and processes
  • Provide guidance and on the job training to staff
  • Assist manager to plan resource needs and hiring for department and projects
  • Lead development of tools and required system updates
  • Utilize corporate software tools to query the global material database to search for information
  • Communicate and represent team to other functions and groups
  • Lead evaluation of overall workflow efficiency and standardization
  • Motivate team members to achieve results by setting examples through behavior, personal values, energy and actions
  • Facilitates discussions to establish team goals and accountabilities
  • Promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor`s degree required with 3-5 years previous work experience.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel (formulas, tables, charts) and Office software tools
  • Excellent proficiency in verbal and written English: B2+ – C1
  • Detail oriented
  • Proactive attitude toward situations of uncertainty

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Experience with databases and data management
  • Educational or work experience with environmental, health, waste and material regulations or standards pertinent to chemical composition of materials
  • Knowledge of medical device industry or products
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry
  • Ability to analyze data and draw meaningful conclusions from them.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks.
  • Familiarity with Back-Office roles within multinational companies
  • Relevant experience as user of Quality Systems and ERPs
