Job Description
Role Purpose:
Accountable for the support of Oracle Business Analytics and Oracle Business Intelligence, ETL and ELT technologies including ODI, Informatica related reporting applications used by Experian. To ensure system availability by proactive system support and speedy resolution of application errors. Assist users to understand and leverage the capabilities of the data warehouse(s). Provide knowledge of data and data warehouse design in support of projects and enhancements.
Major Job Functions:
a) Functional Responsibilities
Design and develop reporting solutions using BI publisher (BIP)
Developing, supporting, and maintaining OBIEE12c/OAS repository model, reports, and dashboards;
Must have experience in working on High-Availability and possibly cloud Infrastructure environments.
Must have excellent understanding of PSU’s and CPU’s patches in relation to OBIA and OBIEE/OAS
Should possess analytical and implementation/development experience on Oracle Business Intelligence and Oracle Data Integrator.
Ability to design and troubleshoot Oracle database queries and logic involved with business intelligence applications.
Ability to provide Application Production Support as well as design & develop.
Ability to translate Business requirements to high quality set of technical requirements
Good understanding of diverse source systems and relational databases in BI space
Nice to have experience on applying the patches on Oracle BI products but essential to have experience on OBIA 11.1.1.10.x
Experience handling the windows and UNIX batch scripting.
Analyze ETL & ELT processes and ability to identify areas for performance improvements and automation
Expected to lead process improvement initiatives.
Expected to assist and mentor less experienced team members.
Expected to support and streamline daily Batch Jobs/scheduled jobs and automate the same.
Expected to identify potential process improvement areas and suggest options and recommend approaches.
Independent, knowledgeable, and self-motivated
b) Internal Relationship Management
Interact daily with internal customers and GCSS managers.
Faciliate periodic status meetings with internal customers.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with EITS/GCSS colleagues.
Maintain effective working relationships with other regions’ peers/teams.
External Relationship Management
Liaison with third party suppliers such as Oracle.
Creation and management of third party service requests.
d) Application of Processes, Controls, Standards and Measures
Maintain Experian Service Management documentation and change standards, following the prescribed software development life cycle.
Provide service meeting Service Level Agreements for incident, problem, and change management.
Adhere to information security and audit requirements.
Work to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of systems.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge / Skills / Experience:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably IT-related.
Skills:
Extensive experience developing and supporting OBIEE/OAS repository model, reports and dashboards
Extensive hands-on technical expertise with ETL & ELT technologies (Admin & Developer), Oracle BI Application (OBIA), OBIEE reporting (Admin & Developer), data modelling techniques as well as solid knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts.
Sound functional knowledge with Oracle eBS ERP and SF.Com CRM applications and assist in any transitioning of data sets to big data platform as our requirements evolve in future.
Extensive knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence integrated with Hyperion Essbase and relational database (OBIEE 12c/OAS, Essbase 11.x)
Experience in supporting the Oracle BI application upgrades
Ability to provide application production support as well as design & develop.
Ability to translate business requirements to high quality set of technical requirements
Effective management of Support tickets with hand offs/exchanges with peers on team working in global time zones.
Extensive Client/User interaction and expanding globally as we evolve our big data platform and analytics tool portfolio
Develops rules and methodologies for data collection and analysis
Consolidates data from a broad spectrum of information systems and existing data repositories using Oracle Business Intelligence Tool
Development experience with physical and logical data models
Provide application analysis and data modeling design to collect data for centralized data warehouse.
Extract data from databases and data warehouses for reporting and to facilitate sharing between multiple data systems.
Proficient in the use of query and reporting analysis tools.
Standardize data collection by developing methods for database design and validation reports.
Critical Business operations and interactions during US Business hours catering to Sales Operations, Finance and Sourcing Business teams
Requires comprehensive knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures used in all phases of full life cycle applications and systems development, engineering, programming, and analysis
Knowledge of and experience with Oracle Business Intelligence tools, techniques and processes for complex data gathering, analysis and reporting on data for large organizations.
Ability to analyze data, resolve issues using simple to complex SQL and understanding of end to end data flow from source to databases and reporting.
Experience writing, testing and implementing complex SQL & PL/SQL & Unix scripts
Experience gathering end user requirements and translating into technical specification
6+ years of progressive IT professional experience
- 3+ years of experience supporting BI applications, preferably 12c version in a global environment.
- 3+ years of experience providing customer support in a technical environment
- Experience with OBIA, OBIEE/OAS, SQL, PL/SQL, ETL (Informatica) and ELT (ODI) tools, Unix and Windows
