Descripción de funciones: This position is responsible for managing Thermo Fisher Scientific’s network engineering team. The team is responsible for all aspects of running the network; technical support for network issues, network monitoring and alerting, handling business requests, planning and executing software upgrades. What will you do? Manage a full-time staff of network engineers , including local and remote resources, including hiring, goal setting/reviews, and performance management Coordinate the overall global network portfolio for enhancements, while collaborating with other architecture and engineering colleagues as required. Provide networking engineering resources to technology driven projects (automation, monitoring PoCs, etc.) to ensure compliance with standards, on-time and on-budget implementation. Manage incident and request ticket queues, processes and end-user expectations Ensure incident, change, request and problem ticket updates in timely manner Enable the team to meet desired SLAs Promote and support global collaboration within IT Find opportunities to enhance the way we work Maintain on-call and shift rotations Provide leadership for escalations and major incident resolution when required Manage processes , workbooks and documentation for troubleshooting for the diagnosis, resolution and root cause analysis & remediation of network issues. Work with team members, vendors, and managed service providers on daily processes, projects, support and maintenance. Ensures that technical documentation is maintained for networks, systems and associated architecture. Adheres to standards and processes of ITIL workstreams including incident and change management Coordinates network upgrades and maintenance activities with business, Change Management team and other key stakeholders as required Participate in Problem Management activities to conduct root cause analysis and make recommendations on corrective actions. In collaboration with leadership, reviews for possible impact to network performance and provides necessary recommendations as required. Manage and support day-to-day escalations , test and evaluation activities. Perform network analyses to identify and correct deficiencies ; improving End-User experience . Test upgrades, patches, feature enhancements and changes for assurance prior to execution. How will you get here? Combined minimum of 3-5 years BA/BS education and/or work experience in leading a global network engineering or operations team. 3 – 5 years of experience in managing global engineering resources and vendors. Advanced knowledge of Networking and Wireless working with past hands-on experience Knowledge of Load Balancer and Firewall with past hands-on experience is an advantage Excellent knowledge of IT general practices, ITIL and methods with specialized knowledge in multiple technical disciplines such as, cloud, telecommunications, network, automation, database and systems architecture. Understanding and experience of cloud computing specifically relating to networks is an advantage Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good customer service skills, and a proven ability to work with various teams. Building high performance teams, globally. Ability to lead diverse team of individuals across geographical boundaries and different time zones. Must have strong analytical skills related to basic financial and contract analysis. Develop, plan, direct and control strategic short-term and long-term operational objectives Ability to anticipate, expose, and manage risks Develop relationships with our clients, engineering, and peer management teams, and effectively navigate across the organization Occasional international travel might be required (0-25%)
