PURPOSE OF POSITION: The Hosting Services Principal is a member of the Global Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure Services Organization.
This position is responsible for professional and technical work related to Hosting Services.
This is an expert service supporting role, primarily working within the design and transitional processes in support of Hosting Service implementations, that span across a broad-range of global services and solutions (Server, Storage, Unix/Linux/Windows Operating Systems, Virtualization and Datacenter Facilities).
Activities include leading the design and transition of new or changed IT services, continuous service improvement and interfacing with multiple business areas with the goal of translating business requirements into IT service offerings.
This role facilitates the highest level of support for a particular service and acts much like a liaison between Management and less experienced Administrators.
They will counsel, consult and mentor others regarding services and associates processes.
This incumbent will work closely with the Service Owner to develop and implement enterprise-wide short and long-range service strategies.
This incumbent will assist with budget development, contract management, service evaluation and acquisition and standards development. RESPONSIBILITIES (DUTIES) OF POSITION: Service Design Processes: Service Catalog, Service Level Management, Capacity Management, Availability Management, Service Continuity, Information Security and Supplier Management.
Service Transition Processes: Knowledge Management, Change Management, Asset and Configuration Management, Release and Deployment, Transition Planning and Support, Service Validation and Testing and Evaluation.
Work with/across Global/Regional/Local IT Teams by providing expert consultation on Hosting Services. Research industry trends and component advancements with the goal of incorporation to service designs to better anticipate and satisfy customer requirements.
Evaluate and propose technology solutions which will deliver highly secure and dynamic IT services for the enterprise.
Develop detailed designs, business cases and communicate detailed architecture recommendations needed to support business critical systems and operations.
Establish and advocate governance for responsible areas. Own, maintain, publish a standard implementation and develop a roadmap for one or multiple technologies.
Utilize business acumen to capture and translate business requirements to provide optimal solutions and excellent customer service.
Create the design for the Hosting Services performance metrics.
Manage continuous improvement of existing Hosting Services.
Develop new tools and/or processes to provide visibility of performance, cost or other potential areas of improvement. Plan, document, implement and debug Hosting solutions and related software and systems.
Incumbent may be required to do expert configuration or system modifications to those environments.
Manage complex and multi-disciplinary projects within area of specialization and across functional groups.
Provides technical leadership for large Project Teams.
Lead complex problem resolution and documentation which may span functional areas.
Deliver proposals and recommendations to Management on matters involving technology, trends and futures with local or global relevance.
Provide guidance, training and documentation to lower-level support on organizational processes and procedures. Participate in an emergency on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support.
Flexible schedules and 24×7 support availability (generally scheduled in advance) may be required as necessary to support the technical needs of our customers.
May be required to perform activities associated with Service Delivery Management (SDM) or Technical Delivery Management (TDM) of one or more services.
SDM includes owning all aspects of a dedicated service with an emphasis on technical delivery.
SDM involves owning the day-to-day operational delivery of the service(s).
TDM includes ownership, maintenance, publishing and enforcing standard implementation, configuration, versioning, standardization penetration reporting, 24-month roadmap and awareness
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Business Administration or related discipline; In lieu of degree 12 or more years of experience in relevant Technical or Business work will be considered EXPERIENCE: 7 or more years of experience in relevant Technical or Business work
