This role has responsibility for cost accounting and manufacturing analysis that leverages existing processes and contributes value in the design, development and implementation of new processes for analysis. The role will also have responsibilities for accounting period close, standard cost accounting, variance analysis, and will provide meaningful cost reduction assistance to senior management, facility management and finance.Hybrid Position: homeoffice 3 days/weekPrimary DutiesAnalysis Responsibilities:25% — Costing and Manufacturing Analysis. Interact with ERP system to calculate actual unit cost variances from standards. Utilize ERP functionality for identification of variances for raw material price, usage, labor and overhead, efficiency, spending and volume. Partner and collaborate with plants to improve costing analysis and build understanding of costs, margin, and add value creating cost saving opportunities.15% — Design, develop and implement value added analysis that drives cost understanding, cost reductions and facility management communication.10% — Ad Hoc Reporting and Analysis. Perform requested ad-hoc reporting to support financial, operational and sales effortsAccounting Responsibilities:20% — Monthly Close. Perform tasks in the monthly close process to validate accuracy of data, and share improvement opportunities with the upstream processes responsible for data integrity. Work with the appropriate groups to reconcile discrepancies in inventory, improve general ledger linkages to detailed transactions, and improve the integrity and internal control of data. Work with management to suggest process improvements that are consistent operational controls and SOX requirements.20% — Standard Cost Development. Coordinate, develop, and streamline processes for calculation of standard costs. Interact with ERP system on budget outlook information and any parameter assumptions to system for rolling up unit costs10% — Projected Costs. For a given product line, lead the cross-functional process of calculating projected unit costs for new products and estimates.Minimum Requirements Experience in SAP2+ years’ experience in finance or accountingRelevant experience in cost analysisFluent in EnglishProficient in Microsoft Office Tools, including Excel, Word and ProjectStrong interpersonal, communication, and relational skills. Must be able to interact effectively with all levels of management.Strong analytical skillsPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree- major in Accounting/Finance/Economics2+ years’ experience in manufacturing accounting/ financial analysisKnowledge of activity based costing and standard costing methodsExperience with ERP systems, including system queries and data mining Cost allocation experienceCPASupply Chain Management or Operations experience
