Descripción de funciones: Job Description:Performs assignments of specific tasks related to the Utilities area process maintenance. Provides technical support to Utilities Assurer. Solves technical problems encountered in the utility areas. The incumbent is responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting utilities equipment, to administer, operate, control and monitoring the mechanical and analytical system pertinent to critical equipment such as Fire Protection Systems, electrical generators, buster Pumps, RO Purified Water Systems, Soft Water Systems, Compressed/ Dryer Air Systems As well as other regulatory requirements such as the Environmental Good PracticesResponsibilities:PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports Utilities Operations with the required technical strengthen, process control and methods.
- Maintains the equipment in optimum operating conditions to a minimum downtime in a cost-effective manner.
- Responsible to execute corrective and preventive maintenance of utilities equipment and promote Continuous Improvement.
- Documents all repair and preventive maintenance on corresponding Check List and PM activities.
- Jointly with Engineers or designated person implement new processes, methods and designs new equipment for the actual
process.
- Provides support to Utilities supervisor or designated person on the development and updating of the preventive
maintenance.
- Works out with the spare parts system. Also prevents time loss, recommend required spare parts availability and prevents
overstock.
- Supports manufacturing equipment layouts.
- Observes the functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for replacement.
- Aids Engineer or designated person in analyzing utilities process defects and improve process thru repair and modifications to
the existing equipment.
- Maintains the general appearance and cleaning of the equipment in optimum conditions.
- Perform shift liaison functions when assigned.
Qualifications:Knowledge, Skills and
Abilities:
- Good verbal and written communication skill (English and Spanish).
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Certified Electrician and/or Refrigeration Technician. Equivalent experience resulting in
proven and demonstrated ability to utilities equipment and troubleshoot highly
desirable.
- Acceptable technical communication skills with suppliers and service men are required.
- Job Knowledge: Troubleshooting ability on utilities equipment
- Knowledge on electrical, electronic, electromechanical, pneumatic and refrigeration
control system.
- Capability to read and understand utilities manuals, operational manual, troubleshooting
guide, calibration manual and schematics to correct utilities equipment failures.
- Must be able to use heavy tools/equipment.
Work Environment:
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Needs to walk, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; sit and reach with arms; lift and/or
move up to 50 pounds; requires close vision.
- Utilizes reading, writing, speaking skills, analytical capacity, and judgment to solve problems.
- Applies communications skills to perform work and speaks clearly and persuasively in positive
or negative situations.
- Incumbent could be exposed to fumes of chemicals
Experience:
- Work experience within 7-8 years in Medical Devices, Pharmaceutical, Industrial or Food
industries, working with electric power distribution, electronics, maintenance, installation,
upgrading and/or modification of facilities/utilities equipment.Education:
- At least High School diploma plus technical degree in Electronics, Industrial mechanics,
