Come, join us on this journey!British American Tobacco Costa Rica has an exciting opportunity for a Accounting Assistant Manager in HerediaThe role is responsible for leads the team ensuring timely closing of each accounting period in accordance with IFRS and /or MX GAAP requirements. With a thorough understanding of core controllership (Record to Report) processes, the Accounting Assistant Manager is responsible for the identification of areas for continuous improvement to drive productivity and strengthen the control environment across the R2R function. The role will combine good accounting knowledge with communication skills and managerial capabilities.Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Period End Reporting: Lead the team through the month end, quarter end and year end process meeting all deadlines.
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and on a timely basis in line with internal SLA’s by supporting the team and providing mentorship.
  • Actively build and develop good working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Actively search out areas for process improvement, identify the gaps in efficiency and effectiveness and recommend the actions. Provide support to continuous improvement projects.
  • Responsible to ensure all SOX / operational and internal controls.
  • Leading Team Performance and Development
  • First point of contact within transactional finance teams..

What are we looking for?

  • Solid understanding of IFRS or MX GAAP
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a multinational company in Finance / Accounting
  • Good knowledge of SAP preferred.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Solid understanding of MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • BPC acknowledge is very desirable.
  • University degree (Accounting, Economics or Finance).
  • CPA designation
  • Bilingual (Spanish and English level 95%+)
